The last three sports games involving a South Florida team that I have watched, all of them ended up with our team scoring 13(points,runs). These 3 games were Hurricaes-Sooners, Dolphins-Redskins, and Nationals-Marlins last night.
The first game was one of the games of the week. The Miami Hurricanes were heading to Oklahoma to play the then #5 team in the nation. The stadium had a sea of red. Throughtout the first half, the Sooners played a little better and were leading 21-10 by halftime. It was a considerable lead, but not a huge one considering that the 'Canes had momentum going in their favor. First drive of the second half for Miami, they score a fieldgoal. 21-13. 8 point deficit. That was about 3 minutes into the second half. The Hurricanes didnt score the rest of the way to lose by about 30-40 points.
Then came the Miami Dolphins home opener. They headed to the nations capital to play the Redskins. The stadium was packed in a sea of red, just like the day before in Oklahoma. In the first half, the Skins were leading 3-0, when on the last play of the first hgalf, Miami scored a touchdown. 7-3. In the second half, the game was pretty even as well. Regulation ended with the score 13-13. Then, on overtime, the Redskins won the coin flip(a rule that should be changed in overtime), and they obvousely chose to receive. They moved the ball upfield, and once they got into field goal range, they kicked a fieldgoal and scored it. The game ended 16-13.
Finnally, I decided to head out to the ballpark with a couple of friends and watch a Marlins game. Since the Marlins are out of contention, and they were playing te Nationals, the stadium was really empty. It was pretty close until up to the 5th or 6th inning, when the Marlins started to rally. The game ended up 13-8. We got free donuts since the Marlins scored 6 runs. The cheerleaders posed for pictures, and we got free donuts since the Marlins scored 6 runs. We scored 13, but at least we won!
